Thank you for your continued support of NYSPA, the APA and your local district branch.  NYSPA continues to advocate for our members and profession in the face of many challenges.  The following is a brief summary of some of our efforts and accomplishments this past year:

  • Working to defeat a number of bills that would expand the scopes of practice of non-physicians, including psychology prescribing and expansions in the involuntary commitment process.
  • Championing legislation that would prohibit fail first/step therapy medication restrictions for serious mental health conditions and reform existing prior authorization processes.
  • While other states enact hostile laws, successfully advocating for the passage of legislation to enhance New York's shield laws. These laws aim to protect physicians and practitioners who provide gender affirming care.
  • Advocating on behalf of members in the face of aggressive utilization review practices by government and commercial insurers.

NYSPA would be unable to continue to provide these services without the support of its members.  As a dues-exempt member, you are no longer required to pay dues.  However, if you wish to make a voluntary dues donation, it will be a tremendous support in helping us to provide quality support and resources for all of our members.   We are grateful for your financial support in any amount and hope you will consider making a donation.
