2014 Medicare Fee Schedules
Below is a chart that highlights the dramatic impact the new combo codes have had on the Medicare fees. The steady rise in fees in 2013 and 2014 results directly from the change to the combination codes for psychotherapy and reinforces NYSPA advocacy for the coding changes. Our next challenge is to work with the commercial carriers to have follow Medicare’s lead on pricing psychotherapy services.

New CMS 1500 Form Required Beginning April 1st
Beginning April 1, 2014, providers are required to use version 02/12 of the CMS 1500 claim form when submitting paper claims to Medicare.

Issues with Processing 1500 Paper Claims Filed to National Government Services
The following notice was received from NGS Medicare
Beginning on April 1, 2014, all paper claims filed to NGS Medicare must be submitted using the revised form CMS 1500 Version 02/12. All paper claim submissions using the older format will be returned to providers as unprocessable after April 1, 2014.
